Spring 2016 CHEM 312: Lecture 0 Viewing online lectures

Using the online lecture format is presented. The lectures are available as notes without audio or animation, PowerPoint audio and animation, and MP4. The use of multiple formats should permit viewing of lectures on a host of platforms.

  2. I had no idea this was how this class was going to be presented. I am a little hesitant but am intrigued by the idea. I really just hope that some of the powerpoints are not so concise as Lecture 0. Otherwise, I'm not exactly sure where I'm supposed to be turning in this PDF Quiz but I have not searched too hard so I'll be looking more after this. Anyways, here is to a hopefully productive and fun semester! (I saw a grammar error....)

  3. This method of learning is new to me so it will take some time for me to adjust. So far, the power point presentation with the audio works fine, however it seems like the MP4 link is not working at the moment. I'm not sure if it's just me that is having this issue so feedback from the others would be appreciated.

    1. The MP4 link does not work over the web. I am creating a you tube channel for this. Last semester I used AVI and MOV format. No problem except the size. We may need to switch back if the MP4 proves to be an issue.

  4. I am also having problems opening the MP4 link but the audio power points work fine. Has anyone else tried to submit quiz zero yet? I watched the power point for submitting the quizzes and I have attempted to submit the PDF quiz from Lied Library. However, I don't know if the quiz is really being sent so I also sent it as an attachment.
Professor Czerwinski, I apologize if you receive multiple copies but please let me know which method worked for submitting the form.

    1. Hi Catherine. I tried submitting the quiz the first time without downloading it to my computer first. That definitely didn't work at all. Make sure it's downloaded to your computer and the software will ask you to set up the e-mailing portion. It should tell you it's e-mailing to the professor's e-mail. I got a confirmation the next day it was sent. Good luck!

    2. Correct. The PDF quiz needs to be downloaded first.

  5. I am looking forward to this class. I think the subject matter is incredibly interesting and relevant for the future. Like other students have mentioned I am unable to use the MOV link on the site and only the PowerPoint with audio worked. I also had trouble submitting the quiz through the PDF itself and I simply emailed it as an attachment. I am looking forward to a fun and interesting semester!

  9. Hi Dr. Czerwinski, I have tried everything I can think of, but I cannot get the audio to work on the powerpoint or as an mp4. I've submitted the quiz but unfortunately only read the lecture slide, as I couldn't listen to the audio. I'm excited for the course, I only hope I can navigate the online aspect well!

  10. sorry about the powerpoint. have you tried downloading it to your computer? I have created a youtube channel for the MP4 files at: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCoOemMF79QkzLDmGOjRKq6A. The MP4 files are also linked to the website.
please let me know if this helps.

  13. Apologies for the late reply here on the blog! Definently will need to get in the hang of this class as it is much more different than any class I have taken before! I have watched the Powerpoint audio of how to submit the quizzes and what not but seem to have an issue with them actually submitting. Dr. Czerwinski, I will send you an email with PDF quiz 0 attached!
